Classic stress induction methods often don’t reflect real life scenarios because of technical limitations. For example, they do not take into account the interaction between stress and cognitive factors. To address this issue, in this study we utilized modern virtual reality technology in a dual task paradigm, combining a navigation task with a reaction task. Our study shows the potential of VR as a valid tool for more reliable and realistic stress induction, as well as to measure the impact of stress on other cognitive functions.
