Research Interests
I'm interested in the integration of deep learning for modeling and prediction in natural and social sciences. Implementing deep learning algorithms as a substitute for traditional statistical methods increases the models' accuracy but reduces its interpretability, opening questions about the interplay between modeling and theory. I find especially interesting the application of deep learning in the psychological sciences.
Current Projects
I’m part of the Deep Rain project. Our goal is to improve weather forecasts using deep learning. I’m in charge of developing neural networks to integrate and condense information from meteorological sources to improve precipitation prediction, processing vast amounts of data in high-performance computers.
