Admission Regulations for the Bachelor Program
(German applicants should consult the German version of this page)
Applicants must have a German "Abitur" or an equivalent foreign certificate providing right of entry to higher education.
Students are required to have a good command of German and English from the beginning of their studies in order to understand lectures, participate in discussions, and take examinations. Proficiency in English is to be proved through a
- IELTS band score of at least 5.5 or
- "Computer Based Testing" score of at least 213 or
- TOEFL score of at least 550 or
- "Internet Based Testing" score of at least 80 or
- passed CPE or
- CAE score A or B or
- equivalent certificates of qualification.
(Native speakers of English are exempt from this regulation.)

Written confirmation of eight years of English at school with an average mark of at least 3.0 according to the German marking system (or an equivalent mark) from the two final school years also suffices to meet the requirements.
Proficiency in German is proved by the Goethe Institute "Zertifikat für Deutsch als Fremdsprache" (ZDaF) or equivalent certificates of qualification. (Native speakers of German are exempt from this regulation).

Registration for Bachelor studies is only possible for the winter semester.
Applications may be sent beginning May 1st. The application deadlines are listed above.
Concerning applications via ASSIST, we strongly recommend that you send your application as early as possible. Open questions can then be settled within the application deadline.
